MFS Alum Jes Macallan stars as Ava Sharpe in new series ‘DC Legends of Tomorrow’
Mistresses alumna Jes Macallan has signed on for a recurring role in the third season of the CW’s superhero drama DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Jes Macallan will play Special Agent Ava Sharpe, a hard working agent for a secret branch of the Federal Government (the Time Bureau) dedicated to the regulation of time-travel and the protection of history. She is very smart and incredibly ambitious and always believes she is the smartest person in the room. She is often quite ruthless in obtaining her goals and her drive for perfection has left many discarded friendships (and relationships) in her wake.
Macallan joins Legends stars Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Arthur Darvill, Dominic Purcell, Caity Lotz, Franz Drameh, Nick Zano, Amy Pemberton, Matt Letscher and Maisie Richardson-Sellers, along with new Season 3 regular Tala Ashe, in the series from Berlanti TV and Warner Bros. TV.
Macallan most recently played Josslyn, a lead, on all four seasons of ABC’s Mistresses.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow has picked up another misfit for Season 3. According to Deadline, Mistresses star Jes Macallan has joined in a recurring role as Ava Sharpe, a Time Bureau special agent.
The report describes her character as “a hardworking agent for a secret branch of the Federal Government (the Time Bureau) dedicated to the regulation of time-travel and the protection of history. She is very smart and incredibly ambitious and always believes she is the smartest person in the room. She is often quite ruthless in obtaining her goals and her drive for perfection has left many discarded friendships (and relationships) in her wake.”
The mention of “relationships” here is particularly interesting, given that main character Sara “White Canary” Lance is due to have a new character as a love interest this season. However, the description makes no mention of Sara, so Ava’s potential to be Sara’s love interest is only speculative at this time.
Macallan appears as Ava in the Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 trailer, which was released at Comic-Con International in San Diego. “You and your sorry excuse for a team could never handle it,” she spits at Sara in the promo.
Premiering on the CW on Tuesday, October 10, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’s third season will star Arthur Darvill a s Rip Hunter, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory, Caity Lotz as Sara Lance, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer, Nick Zano as Nick Heywood, Victor Garber as Professor Martin Stein and Franz Drameh as Jefferson “Jax” Jackson.
