Experience

Dariush’s Broadway career as an actor includes the Tony Award winning productions of The Band’s Visit (Barrymore Theater) & Oslo (Vivian Beaumont Theater / LCT). He received an Obie Award (Outstanding Cast) for the off-Broadway production of Oslo (Mitzi Newhouse / LCT). Other plays include working with Tony Kushner, Declan Donnellan & Ruben Santiago-Hudson. Appearances on popular TV shows include “High Maintenance,” “Madam Secretary,” “Lost,” and “24.” Films include Eagle Eye and Rachel Hendrix, directed by Victor Nuñez.

Philosophy

Maggie taught me, above all, that when you compromise yourself and give into cynicism, you’re doomed. The business is not designed to nurture you or your artistry. That is entirely up to you and what you choose to surround yourself with and embody. It is of the utmost importance to hold yourself to the highest possible standard not only with your craft but also your reputation. As the business is competitive and very challenging, you must advocate for yourself, become a trusted collaborator and never lower these standards. It can take some time, being “out there” and with constant trial and error, you’ll learn how to deal with these things, gaining confidence along the way, doing exceptional work and building your career.
