Because commercials are so short and casting occurs so quickly, actors have to deal with added challenges.

The short length of commercials makes it critical for the actor to be able to get “in-character” spontaneously.

This method prepares students for reacting off of and interacting with other characters. This is essential in commercials. Although some commercials do not have more than one actual person on screen, the actor still must interact with the camera.
