The Best Meisner Training Program In The United States Is Now Accepting Applications For The Six-week Meisner Summer Intensive
For 16 years, the gold standard for professional actor training, the Maggie Flanigan Studio is now enrolling for their acclaimed Meisner Summer Intensive, the highly respected summer acting program, which runs for six weeks June 9th – July 21st, 2017.
Located in the heart of Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, the Maggie Flanigan Studio has earned the reputation as the nation’s most accurate teacher of Sanford Meisner’s brilliant training program known worldwide as the Meisner Technique. The entire track of the Sanford Meisner approach takes a full two years to implement, but for six weeks every summer, the Maggie Flanigan Studio provides the first third of the work to aspiring actors looking to begin the process of acquiring professional craft and technique.
The founder of MFS and master teacher Maggie Flanigan says, “If you are committed to a life in the arts, then the first step is taking yourself seriously. Our six-week summer acting program is designed to introduce aspiring actors to the demands of the art form, real insight into what top professional actor training is, and an intensive introduction to the training of Sanford Meisner.”
Sanford Meisner began teaching in 1935, and for the next sixty years, honed what is considered by many to be the greatest way to instill actors with fundamental skill and technique. The reputation of the Maggie Flanigan Studio rests on its commitment to the accuracy and integrity of the teaching Sanford Meisner’s approach to acting, the Meisner Technique. Acceptance into the summer intensive requires an application and then a personal interview with the studio’s Executive Director and Head Of Acting, Charlie Sandlan. According to Sandlan, “ We purposely small and selective enrollment. The Maggie Flanigan Studio is not a factory taking hundreds of students and throwing them into overcrowded classes with second-rate teachers. There are plenty of those to choose from. I interview everyone personally because I’m teaching you. I care deeply about the integrity of the studio and the quality of students we bring in.”

The Maggie Flanigan Studio, created by Maggie Flanigan in 2001, came to fruition out of Maggie’s belief that excellent training in a small, nurturing, yet challenging environment was sorely lacking in America.
